Consequently, this is what most flight schools base their cost estimates on; yet it is unrealistic for most people. The following estimate for the Private Pilot Course is based on 50 hours of flight time. This tends to be the average time for completion for the majority of people.

50 hours in a 2001 Piper Archer III @ $95.00/hr. dry $ 4,750
40 hours of flight instruction @ $50/hr. $ 2,000
20 hours of ground instruction @ $50/hr. $ 1000
FAA flight physical $ 85
Books and supplies $ 200
FAA written examination $ 75
FAA practical examination (flight test) $ 300
Twin-engine Training in Piper Seneca @ $250.00/hr. dry $ variable

Individual Circumstance

Just as your flight training will be uniquely tailored to your abilities and available time, likewise, the total cost for each student to reach his or her full potential is an individual matter.  With this in mind, we are committed to laying out a training plan in plain language that is in line with the quality of training and aircraft we provide.  Our courses include a syllabus personalized for your goals and abilities, plus aircraft-specific training manuals.  Give us a call, email, or just drop by SunCountry Flight for your specific flight training quote.
